A few things we can arrange for you, and a few more worth knowing about nearby.
Ask the caretaker in the morning and the grill is lit by your pool that evening. Charcoal, ice and the long table are the property's; you bring what you want to cook, or hand him a list and he will bring it back from the market.
Groups booking several villas usually take the courtyard by the three-bedroom villa, which seats eight at one table.
Cafe Cotinga is 190 m down the lane and does the best coffee within walking distance. Goan Spice and Kefi are a few minutes further, and the beach is 1.8 km — a ten-minute scooter ride, or twenty on foot in the cool of the morning.
The lane itself is worth the walk: pastel houses, a chapel, and almost no traffic after dark.
Cane lanterns come on around seven and the pavilion is where people end up, usually with something from the kitchenette. The terrace faces the last of the light over the roofline and the fields behind the property.
Selected villas have their own terrace or balcony. If that matters, say so when you book and we will tell you what is free.
Around Anjuna
North Goa is compact. Most of these are twenty minutes or less by scooter, and the caretaker can arrange a car.
Coffee, breakfast and shade, at the top of the lane.
Rocky at the north end, sandy south. Shacks open through the season.
Wednesdays in season. Go early or go late; midday is punishing.
The fort walls at sunset are the standard evening, and free.
Restaurants and design shops in old Portuguese houses. Book ahead in season.
Music, food stalls and crowds, from six until late.
Busier beaches, water sports and the largest market stretch.
Basilica of Bom Jesus and Sé Cathedral. Half a day, best in the morning.
When to come
The most reliable weather of the year, and the property fills up to match. Book well ahead for December and January.
Fewer guests, hotter days, and the pool earns its keep. Rates ease off and the lane is calmer.
The monsoon turns the lane green and the property half-empty. Rates are at their lowest all year.
The Wednesday flea market and the Saturday night market run through the season and stop in the monsoon.
